Festivals are celebrated to fulfill some communal purposes. There will be showcasing of traditions and cultures and entertainment through art, music, and dances. This month of May, witness the beauteous and colorful past of New Orleans by attending these popular festivals:

  • Bayou Boogaloo Music Festival
This festival will be hosted at Bayou St. John this May 20 – 22, 2022 to support arts, music, and recreation as well as to promote camaraderie. There will be free music, an art display, and southern food cuisine. Small water vessels like kayaks and canoes fit the Bayou, so swamp tours are popular.
  • New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival
Celebrated from April 29 to May 8, 2022, this festival culminates the historical significance and popular appeal of New Orleans’ legacy as the birthplace of Jazz music. There will be 12 stages of indigenous music styles during the evening concert, Louisiana cuisine, and arts and crafts booth.
  • Greek Festival
This memorial weekend tradition will be celebrated at Bayou St. John on May 27-29, 2022. There will be Hellenic dancing and a live Greek band near the Bayou, cathedral tours, and an Athenian playground for kids. Homemade traditional Greek food, pastries, desserts, and, most importantly, wine beverages will also be served.

Nothing should stop you from attending these rare events, not even a physical disability. These festivals will be filled with lively music, rowdy chatters, art masterpieces, and good food, and as a provider of NEMT in Louisiana, we wouldn’t want you to miss those.
